iPod capsule

Saturday, April 5, 2008

First was the iPod. Then came the Nano. Will the iPod capsule be next? As we see the design concept of our gadgets getting smaller and thinner, it just makes me wonder

How to control your iPod touch when it's in your pocket? How about an iPod case with the old circle control button on the back side of it?

iStick

Wednesday, February 27, 2008

Designer Alexei Mikhailov isn’t out to convince people his iStick concept is the perfect mobile convergence device. In fact he clearly points out the iStick isn’t for viewing movies and the screen is too small for effective photo viewing. What it does have is a visual replication of the iPhone/Touch space inside a device the size of a lipstick tube.

Sunday, February 10, 2008

Unless your neighborhood thief has a hankering for vintage small electronics, disguising your iPod inside an old Sony Walkman might be a worthy diversion. The clever ruse even reveals a fake cassette tape through its window, completing the illusion.

iPod Earbuds 500 Times The Size Of The Original!

Friday, January 25, 2008

Sometimes bigger IS really better, especially when it comes to sound. That’s why we took a puny pair of earbuds, put them in Fred’s highly technical Way Big machine, and created 500XL - it’s 500 times the size of the original! How great will these look on your desktop alongside your
mp3 player or PC?

iPond Speakers Double As Aquarium

Sunday, December 16, 2007

A TINY fish-tank that doubles as an iPod music speaker has outraged animal activists, who have dubbed it a "torture box". The iPond, which is designed to resemble Apple Corp's best-selling iPod music player, is up to 15 times smaller than the minimum recommended tank size.

Phone owners looking to personalize their handset can now send off their precious device to Colorware, the folks who will paint just about every electronic device under the sun. $150 gets you a new paint job, which includes two color choices for the back of the phone.
For a little extra, you can also customize the shiny metal and Home button on the front of the phone, the Apple logo on the back, and the earbuds and dock.
Similar to Colorware's other offerings, you can also buy a prepainted iPhone in both the 4GB and 8GB capacities. One thing we're not digging is the giant Colorware logo that gets slapped on the back of the phone. You'd think shelling out $150 and voiding your warranty would keep it ad-free.

Bulletproof iPod - A Blast From The Past

Monday, June 25, 2007

During the early days of the iPod, Mac planned to create a bulletproof case for the iPod. I'm not sure if the bulletproof iPod made it's way to the market or not. Bulletproof iPod? Ever heard of it before? Well, it was back in the early days when an unnamed person who lives in Kanto region in Japan got his iPod crushed to death in his pocket, jammed against the handrail on one of those famously cramped Japanese commuter trains. After the incident, he bought a new iPod. To protect his new iPod from a similar fate, he adopted Hummer logic and engineered his case to last: he speculates that the 5mm Aluminum A5052 shell could stop a 0.22 bullet. Naturally, he christened the project 'Armor Plate for iPod Photo'. The two halves of the case are held together with chunky M3 hex bolts. You'd certainly need the muscles of Vin Diesel to carry it: at 446gram, it is 2.5 times the weight of a new iPod Photo.
